Javea Photos is an extension of the The Affordable Art Atelier which was formed in 2004 by the Artist Mai Griffin and her daughter Gaile Griffin Peers as a means of promoting Art and Artists. Now also sponsored by Marina Alta Business Club - Our goal is to provide the best quality stock images and images for Art Prints at reasonable prices. This photo gallery is simply an extension of the original concept - but with the opportunity now open to other artists and photographers to sell their work as Commercial We also want to promote Javea and Spain (through Photos and Images), as both a business and tourist destination. You will find an extensive and growing collection of images, here. Many reflect Spain and our Mediterranean Lifestyle, however, we also welcome photos and photographers from all over the world - Javea is a surprisingly cosmopolitan Town, so it is only fair that www.javeaphotos.com should reflect that!

Mai Griffin - After Art College (now part of the University of Wales), Mai began painting professionally in 1950. She has enjoyed painting in many countries, from the UK and the Continent to S.E.Asia. Her works include official portraits of Royalty, Heads of State, prominent figures and several significant historical works for the National Museum of Brunei Darussalam. Over eighty of her paintings, including landscapes, hang in Palaces, Government Offices, Embassies and Stately Homes but many more are in smaller, private collections all over the world. A selection from the hundreds of pictures Mai has painted in the last sixty years is viewable in the Griffin Gallery
Mai's interest in photography started with reference photos for fabric and colour details between Portrait sittings and grew as she travelled the world to include a record of the many places she has lived in and visited over the years. Converting some of this collection to digital media for inclusion in Javea Photos is a long term project. Mai is the author of the Grey Series of mystery thrillers. Deadly Shades of Grey
Gaile Griffin Peers - "After 35 years of taking photos for pleasure, I started taking photos for magazine reproduction a few years ago. As a long term editor and having run a couple of small publishing and design businesses (involving commissioning photos), I tend to take the sort of photos that I used to buy - ranging from the odd and quirky to the semi-abstract and texture photos that make an effective magazine cover.
When I compose a photo I look for:- impact for calendar or postcard; a sharp edge with a blurry background or plain area for text overlay; an interesting shot to illustrate an article; an informative shot, to tell a story or an illustrative photo to add emphasis to a business/management presentation. I have been selling photos, online, for over five years."
